Grassland dairy scientist

Job Duties

• Deliver an ongoing dairy research study related to robotic milking systems and assist in a research project related to mixed species grazing swards for dairy cattle.
• Working in partnership with funders, collaborators and co-researcher farmers will be a key component of the post therefore strong communication skills required.
• Publication of results in peer reviewed scientific journals is essential to the role as is dissemination of research findings to a range of stakeholder including primary producers.

You will have:

A PhD in an area relating to agriculture, animal science, biological science, veterinary science or a related natural science discipline. Successful submission and completion of oral defence of PhD with graduation expected with 6 months is acceptable.

• Proven track record of delivering research studies in dairy production science, animal science, or a related natural science discipline.
• Proven ability to statistically analyse and interpret the results of scientific studies in agriculture, animal science, biological science or a related natural science discipline.
• Proven ability to be the lead author of papers which have been published in peer reviewed scientific journals.
• Proven ability to deliver oral scientific presentations to a range of audience types.
