Agricultural Lecturer – Cookstown

Our client, A Large public sector organisation, based in the Cookstown area is looking for a Lecturer to join their team.

Duration: Until May 2024

Rate of pay: £18.62

Location: Cookstown

Hours: Normally, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm. Thursday evening 7pm to 9pm. The vacancy will require some work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends. The post will also require the successful applicant to have access to a form of transport which will permit him/her to meet the travel requirements of the vacancy in full. Part-time work would also be considered (three/ four days per week).

Main Duties:

  1. Support the delivery and assessment of the full-time postgraduate courses.
  2. Support the delivery and assessment of the part-time postgraduate courses.
  3. Monitoring student attendance.
  4. Supervise MSc degree projects.
  5. Tutor students and provide pastoral care where necessary.
  6. Attend education team meetings.
  7. Any other duties in line with the business needs of CAFRE and DAERA

Essential Criteria:

– The applicant must possess a postgraduate qualification at Master’s degree level or above in an agri-food or related discipline.

Desirable Criteria:

– Previous experience of delivering education courses and assessing student learning would be beneficial.
