MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Provide a full range of architectural and building surveying services in connection with building/civil engineering projects for Council properties.

Provide architectural design services for feasibility studies, concept designs, statutory approvals, tendering, and construction.

Project management and site inspection of Council capital schemes up to the value of £500K.

Shortlisting Criteria (Essential)

Criterion 1

Applicants must have a minimum of a third level qualification in a building related subject e.g. architecture, architectural technology or building surveying

OR

Full membership of a recognised professional body relevant to the post

Criterion 2

Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 2 years’ experience (4 years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in a drawing or design office environment to include:

· Design and delivery of non-domestic schemes;

Criterion 3

Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 2 years’ experience (4 years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in a drawing or design office environment to include:

· Knowledge of Statutory Approvals process;

Criterion 4

Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 2 years’ experience (4 years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in a drawing or design office environment to include:

· Knowledge of Building Regulations;

Criterion 5

Be able to demonstrate by providing personal and specific examples, that they have 2 years’ experience (4 years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in a drawing or design office environment to include:

· Using Computer Aided Design (CAD) software

Criterion 6

A full current driving licence valid in the UK and access to a vehicle OR have access to a form of transport that enables you to carry out the duties of the post[i].
