The Recruitment Co are currently recruiting for our client, a 4-star Liverpool Hotel located at Kings Dock on Liverpool world famous water front. Boasting an
incredible location in the heart of the city this hotel truly is a Jewel in the Accor brand portfolio.
This role supports the Hotels Finance department, reporting directly to the Hotel Financial Controller, you will assist in the development and implementation of financial controls and daily processes and audit the provision of accurate and timely management information. This is a wide and varied role with exposure and training provided to all aspects of a hotel finance function, for the correct candidate.

Salary: £25,500

Main responsibilities

  • To take ownership and responsibility for completing the following tasks in accordance with the organisations standard operating procedures.
  • Support the Finance team to ensure that the key processes operate in accordance with the SOPs to minimise risk to the business.
  • Identify and resolve, where necessary, any discrepancies that may have occurred on a daily basis.
  • Ensure revenues have been audited and are accurate and that all banking’s’ and credit card transactions are completed ,reconciled and uploaded into Sage accounting system on a daily basis.
  • Review the Paymaster, Guest ledger and deposit ledger accounts to identify any potential problems.
  • Support the FC in ensuring that the AR Ledger is maintained in accordance with company standards.
  • Maintain a purchase order commitment record to accurately forecast expenses on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure that the purchase ledger system is complete and up to date on a daily/weekly basis.
  • Make sure that all supplier statements are reconciled and any queries are resolved directly with supplier or via EPSL purchasing platform.
  • Make Supplier payments in line with the company deadlines.
  • Support food and liquor stock controls with the relevant HOD.
  • Support the FC in production and integrity of the month end accounts, by processing relevant accruals and pre-payments.
  • Assist and advise the management team in producing 3 month rolling forecasts on a monthly basis.
  • Assist in the completion of the month end balance sheet pack.
  • Ensure the security of company records and information, monies, keys, supplies and equipment.
  • Ensure filing and archives are kept in an orderly organised manner and securely stored under data protection and company guidelines.
  • To complete any other reasonable task as required by the Financial Controller

Person Specification
To successfully fill this role, you should maintain the attitude, behaviours, skills, and values that follow:

  • Current Assistant Financial Controller or a proficient Accounts Assistant with minimum two years’ experience, preferably within a Hotel environment.
  • Positive, welcoming attitude and good communication skills
  • Ability to work on your own and as part of a team
  • The right candidate will be a proficient user of excel and have competent use of all Microsoft suite of products.
  • Fluent English both verbally and written
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail It would be advantageous in this position for you to demonstrate the following capabilities and distinctions:
  • Experience having previously worked with Sage Line 50 Accounts Professional and Opera PMS.
