Location – Galgorm Ballymena

Hours – full time 9-5 Monday – Friday

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB
Responsible for the provision of a wide range of professional, technical and
administration support services to staff working within the Building Control Section
of Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.
Contribute to the delivery and promotion of quality, customer focused and
innovative Building Control services through the effective and efficient handling of
callers and enquiries, including the provision of professional and technical advice
and signposting associated with all functions delivered by the Building Control
Service within Mid and East Antrim Borough.
Facilitate wider corporate business continuity aims as part of a flexible Business
Support team.

Shortlisting Criteria (Essential):
Criterion 1 Applicants must Possess a minimum of 5 GCSE passes to include Maths and English language (grade C or above) or equivalent qualifications to demonstrate literacy and numeracy.
Criterion 2 Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have at least one year’s relevant Business Support experience (three years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in an office environment to include:

·         Effective use of computerised information management systems;

Criterion 3 Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have at least one year’s relevant Business Support experience (three years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in an office environment to include:

·         Working as part of a team to deliver frontline customer service to members of the public and/or external organisations;

Criterion 4 Applicants must be able to demonstrate, by providing personal and specific examples, that they have at least one year’s relevant Business Support experience (three years’ if Criterion 1 is not met) in an office environment to include:

·         The ability to deal efficiently with large volumes of work and prioritise competing demands

Criterion 5 A qualification that demonstrates competency in working with office technology i.e. Word Processing or Typewriting.
Criterion 6 Competent in the use of Microsoft Office Applications including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook.
