The Recruitment Co are recruiting for 5 Tonne Van Drivers to work for a distributor of school products based in Wakefield, WF2.

To be considered for this position, it is essential that you have:

  • Category C1 or C Drivers Licence with no current or historical driving disqualifications.
  • Valid Driver Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC)
  • Valid Driver Digital Tachograph Card
We are seeking individuals who can demonstrate a positive, 'can-do' attitude, capable of adapting to diverse routes and schedules dictated by the evolving needs of our clients and the business. You will demonstrate great verbal communication skills, coordinating with colleagues and customers to deliver an efficient and friendly service.

Working predominately independently, and across the M62 corridor, you will be organised and able to manage your time efficiently to meet deadlines and delivery timeframes. You will be comfortable loading and unloading vehicles carefully and safely, using lifting equipment as required.

It is desirable that the successful candidate have previous experience of multi-drop delivery, however not essential. Working hours are 7.5 hours Monday to Thursday, and 7 hours on a Friday, including a 45-minute paid lunch break. Starting times are usually between 6:00 and 7:00am.

The pay rate will be £12.63 per hour for C1 experience and £13.50 per hour for HGV experience – Overtime is paid at time and a half over 37 hours a week. There are 2 hours overtime available per day if desired.
