CNC Lathe Setter & Operator – Gloucester GL1 – Double day Shifts (1 week 6-2 / 1 week 2-10) – Salary £34-37k DoExperience – Permanent Role – Immediate Starts Available

The Recruitment Co is proud to represent a well-established engineering firm in Gloucester, currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Programmer/Setter/Operator. The ideal candidate should possess a good knowledge of Mazatrol and/or Fanuc controls and be able to program, set up and operate CNC lathes. The production operative will work safely on several machines or processes and be expected to meet set production and quality targets on a daily basis.

Key Responsibilities:

• Programming, setting and operating CNC lathes
• Working safely on several machines or processes
• Meeting set production and quality targets on a daily basis
• Programming directly on machines
• Machining features such as tapers, spiral grooves, chamfers, and radii
• Setting and operating bar feeders and selecting correct tooling
• Inspecting own work and that of fellow operators
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings

Essential Skills and Experience:

• At least 3 years’ experience in programming, setting and operating CNC lathes in a fast-paced production environment
• Ability to program, set up and machine a range of features on parts
• Familiarity with setting and operating bar feeders and selecting correct tooling
• Knowledge of machining composite materials (desirable)
• Good understanding of G, D & T symbols and how they apply to the part
