Job Title: Continuous Improvement Production Engineer
Location: Barnstaple
Hours: Full time, Monday to Thursday 7.15am to 5.30pm or Monday to Thursday 8am to 5pm/Friday 8am to 1pm
Salary: £35k – £40k per annum
Contract: Permanent
The Recruitment Co are working with a a client who are a leading provider of manufacturing services and manufacturer of electronic components and are looking for a Continuous Improvement Production Engineer.

The Role:
- Working closely with the Ops team / Prod Eng lead / Quality Manager to improve the processes in line with the Technology development plan
- Identifying opportunities for improvement and outline savings
- Driving effective Continual Improvement activities in the Value Stream to deliver RFT and COPQ objectives – including PPAP, Control Plans, 8D RCCA.
- Deliver planned Internal Audits to support annual internal audit plan and manage non-conformances to completion on time.
- Drive improvements in the Quality Culture.
- Quality Training.
- Deliver the Value Stream Quality Improvement Plan.
Key Responsibilities:
- Demonstrate safe behaviour at all times, and ensure yourself and others in your working areas are safe and not exposed to significant risk.
- Health and Safety awareness and engagement
- Coaching, Training, engagement and visual on shop floor
- Pro active problem identification and solving – using tools and techniques appropriate to task
- Accountability for driving and facilitating effective RCCA through AS13000 deployment
- Raising the level of Quality Awareness through the support Teams using techniques such as Toolbox Talks
- Key player within delivery team – focussed on RFT and OTD
- Co-ordination and lead on PPAP activity
- You may be required from time to time to undertake such other duties as the company may reasonably require.
Candidate skills and experience:
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Sound Engineering Qualification – HNC / HND / Degree level
- Structured development plan / pipeline with clear goals , objectives and measures
- Ability to build strong relationships and communicate effectively at all levels.
- Good Understanding AS9100 and Business Management Systems.
- Be able to influence key stakeholders and cross functional teams to achieve key business object
- Bias towards action – a completer finisher.
- Able to create and work to KPI’s in a performance driven business environment.
- Good time and priority management.
- Ability to facilitate and lead where appropriate effective RCCA problem solving events with a cross functional team.
- Work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines.
- Able to and confident in presenting to the wider organisation.
- Ability to think and act strategically across all the support areas.
