The Recruitment Co Yorkshire are currently recruiting for an experienced Engineer to work for our prestige client in the heart of Harrogate on a permanent basis.

Salary: £40,000 – £45,000 per annum

Hours: Continental shift weekly shift pattern – 7am/7pm and 7pm/7am

A technical role providing engineering support to the manufacturing facility through continuous monitoring and reporting on equipment performance as well as maintaining and repairing plant and equipment.

Main Duties:

• Fault-find, repair and maintain a range of machines
• Reactive and planned maintenance on a range of machinery
• Ensure that engineering procedures are adhered to including Health and Safety, hygiene and general housekeeping
• To observe, recognise and report on machinery or component defects or symptoms of impending failure escalating potential problems to the Engineering Manager
• Highlight opportunities for improvement in maintenance plan and/or failure of components
• Ensure an effective handover across shift
• Working as one team with the operational technicians, and fellow engineers
• Responsible for completing necessary documentation from each shift
• Ensure the equipment is operated in the defined manner to produce products to specification
• Responsible for contractor activities on site, ensuring conformance to site rules
• Contribute to the continuously improving operational efficiency
• Responsible for own professional development
• Any other duties that your employer might reasonably expect

Experience & Specialist Knowledge:

• Multi-skilled engineer with a good electrical/mechanical skill base
• Fault finding on high speed automated manufacturing equipment
• Some automated process control knowledge

Education/Training/Qualifications:

• Electrical/Mechanical City & Guilds or equivalent

Skills:

• Electrical fault finding
• Installation/testing
• Ability to replace set up inverters/controllers
• Mechanical servicing/repairs (welding/turning)
• Understanding of site services: compressors/steam boilers/water treatment/electrical distribution
• Ability to adhere to tight deadlines
