Our Public Sector Client is currently seeking a temporary Ongoing Finance Officer This role will be based in Newtownards

Hours of work Mon-Fri 9am-5pm

Rate of pay £12.25 per hour

Duties:

The following gives an indication of the main duties and responsibilities of the post. These may change over time. The post holder will be expected to work flexibly and carry out any work that is reasonably required and appropriate to the grade.

• Assist the Band 7 Finance Officer in contributing to the development of cash releasing efficiency plans, recovery plans and contingency plans for the directorate.
• Support the Finance Manager in the early identification of threats to the financial stability of the Trust by highlighting risks within the directorate and agreeing rectification measures to ensure breakeven is achieved.
• To assist in developing the use of financial systems, reporting and enquiry tools and working methods to advance the quality and efficiency of Financial Management information

Essential Criteria:

• HNC/D(Finance Related) or equivalent, plus 1 years suitable relevant finance experience or NVQ level 3 plus 2 years suitbale relevant finance experience

OR 2 years recent suitable finance experience at Band 3 Level

• Excellent written & verbal communication with a range of stakeholders
• Competent at Microsoft Excel ability to manipulate large volumes of data, wide range of functions & then provide analysis on this data
• Experience of preparing & posting journals, budget adjustments
• Ability to manage workload to meet department deadlines
