Our client is looking for a Food Technology Lecturer to join their team!

Rate of Pay: £18.33

Duration: Up to one year

Location: Cookstown

Hours: 37 hours Normally, Monday to Friday 9 am to 5 pm.

The vacancy will require some work outside normal office hours, including evenings and weekends. The post will also require the successful applicant to have access to a form of transport which will permit him/her to meet the travel requirements of the vacancy in full.

Job Description:

Lecturing and assessing students/trainees/lifelong learning programme participants in the selected subject(s) in accordance with the standards of the course validating body/College requirements through:

a) Planning, organising and delivering learning sessions in line with required standards;

b) Preparing information handouts/teaching materials required to develop learners in the skills and knowledge relating to the subject area;

c) Planning, marking and recording assessments within agreed deadlines;

d) Assessing the ability of the learners

e) Evaluating assessment results and providing feedback to learners;

f) Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety Codes of Practice and other College protocols at all times; and

Attending all meetings as required associated with the management of the course and provide feedback to programme managers as appropriate

Essential Criteria:

The applicant must possess an Honour’s degree qualification in a food or related discipline.

Desired Criteria:

Previous experience of delivering education courses and assessing student learning would be beneficial.
