Job Title: IT Technician

Location: Manchester (M15) will be the main base, with travel to Liverpool (L3) and Newcastle (NE1). Travel expenses will be reimbursed by the employer.
Salary: Up to £28k

Job Type: Full time/Permanent

Shift Patterns: Office hours Monday – Friday, occasional project-work may require temporary flexibility and adjustment to working pattern.

Job Summary: The IT technician will support our Clients digitalisation strategy in a hands-on, pragmatic way. Reporting to the Director of Operations, the IT technician will be a operational technical support who will be responsible for the proactive and reactive maintenance of IT inventory, troubleshooting issues and following correct escalation protocols, supporting with the installation and updating of equipment, coordinating with suppliers, and the ongoing reactive maintenance of current systems.

Duties include:
·Assisting with the planning, installation, and training of new onsite hardware and software, supporting in systems implementation and troubleshooting.
·Audit existing equipment and pro-actively manage the IT inventory.
·Ensure optimal and effective use of computer systems.
·Work alongside the maintenance teams on project work including upgrading systems, routing and switching.
·Carry out vulnerability risk-assessments and training, advise on correct data management protocols.
·Manage IT service contracts for their multiple areas.
·Ensure compliance with PCI policy and MHI regulatory framework.
·Provide support for training in computer systems.
·Provide support to technology service providers during any on-site tasks for our clients operation centre.
·Ensure continuity in the use of click on as the IT service support tool, ensuring the correct resolution of any requests or incidents.
·Ensure compliance with PCI and Secure Mail policies and any other policies in the IT security regulatory framework for all business units in the operations centre.

Requirements:

  • A minimum 2 year’s experience in an IT role.
  • Formal qualifications (apprenticeship or HNC-degree levels candidates).
  • Experience with Windows server.
  • Understanding Cloud architecture.
  • Knowledge of cyber-security and vulnerability management.
  • Desirable to have experience with Property Management Systems.
