JOB TITLE: Cemetery Operative Antrim and Newtownabbey Council
SALARY: Scale 3 SCP 5 -6 (£19,312 – £19,698)
DEPARTMENT: Operations
RESPONSIBLE TO: Team Leader Cemeteries
LOCATION OF POST: Required to work at any site/cemetery locations within the Borough under the Council’s control
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
To carry out Cemetery duties as directed throughout the Parks and Cemeteries Service.
Dig and backfill graves manually or mechanically, making necessary preparations before and after burials as appropriate, and ensuring cemeteries and grounds are maintained to agreed standards
QUALIFICATIONS
? A full current driving licence to include C1 + E to enable post holder to drive a vehicle and trailer combination up to 8.25 tonnes
? Hold a Driver Certificate of Professional Competence and Qualification card (or achieve within 12 months)
EXPERIENCE
? Minimum of 2 years’
experience in grounds
maintenance including 1
years’ experience of
excavator/plant operation
? Experience of dealing with queries from members of the public
