The Recruitment Co are on the search for MIG welders for my client based in the Greater Manchester Area.
We are seeking a skilled MIG Welder to join our client. As a MIG Welder, you will be responsible for executing a diverse range of tasks with the ultimate objective of fabricating functional metal projects that align with our clients’ specifications.
Your role will involve meticulous material selection, precise determination of gas ratios, thorough preparation of metal surfaces, and comprehensive inspection of weld strength during the post-production phase.
Requirements:
- To excel in this role, candidates must have completed formal training in the field of welding. This can be achieved through apprenticeship programs mentored by experienced MIG Welders or by undertaking relevant vocational training.
- The role Requires experienced welders comping from either the usual MIG Welder background or From a Heavy Plant Background
- Must have their own selection of tools – some will also be provided
- Drivers Licence needed as there will be jobs in the field also
- CSCS card is needed to attend sites
- A weld test will be required
Responsibilities:
- Execute welding tasks using the MIG technique to assemble metal projects according to client specifications.
- Carefully select appropriate materials prior to initiating the welding process.
- Ability to weld heavy plant equipment is needed depending on projects
- Determine optimal gas ratios to ensure superior weld quality.
- Prepare metal surfaces meticulously for effective bonding.
- Conduct post-production inspections to verify the durability and strength of welds.
Qualifications:
- Formal training in welding through apprenticeship programs or vocational training.
- City and Guilds Level 2 Welding Qualification or relevant time served experience
- Proficiency in MIG welding techniques and equipment.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings and follow precise instructions.
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot welding issues.
- Knowledge of safety protocols and the ability to adhere to strict safety standards.
- Physical dexterity and the ability to work in various positions and environments.
Note: The above job description is a general overview and other duties may be assigned as needed. Salary up to £32k based upon experience level
Hours 8am till 4pm Monday to Friday
