The Recruitment Co are urgently recruiting an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrically Bias) to join our clients well established growing team in Peterborough.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: £38,000-£42,000

Shifts: Working a two shift rotation between mornings and afternoons.
Mornings: Monday – Friday: 6:00am – 2:00pm / Afternoons: Monday – Friday: 2:00pm – 10:00pm

This role will be suited to an experienced Multi Skilled Engineer (Electrically Bias). The focus of the role is to work closely with the production team to ensure that machinery downtime is kept to a minimum and that all maintenance is conducted in advance to avoid production disruption.

To work collaboratively with the engineering team, supporting and identifying means of improving plant productivity. To ensure that any spare parts, materials, and equipment are available. Be able to investigate and establish the causes of all breakdowns and machinery speed losses and record any repairs to ensure recurrent faults can be recognised.
Key Tasks/ Responsibilities:

  • Health and Safety Awareness for all activities undertaken.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safe working practices and observe safety rules at all times
  • Hi level of fault finding skills.
  • Excellent communication with all levels of the business.
  • Undertake planned and preventative maintenance tasks.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications necessary:

  • Electrically you will be able to fault find on single and three-phase systems, servo motors and AC motors, sensors, and various control systems.
  • Knowledge of PLC electronics desired.
  • There will be an element of electrical installation as required, typically lighting and small power.
  • Mechanically you will be able to work on drive train systems, rollers, gearboxes, shafts, pneumatics, and some hydraulics.
  • There is a requirement to be able to strip machine assemblies to component level and rebuild.
  • You will also need to have demonstrated experience in maintenance engineering and show the ability to work off your own initiative.
