Portal Industrialist – Belfast.

Join our Client’s Team:

Our client, a prominent public sector organisation in Belfast, is actively seeking Portal Industrials to join their dynamic team.

Position Details:

• Start Date: ASAP
• Duration of Placement: 6 Months with the possibility of extension
• Hourly Pay: £14.33
• (The rates above reflect 20% Shift Disturbance Allowance)
• Location: Belfast
• Hours of Work: 37 hours per week, part of a shift arrangement including weekends and nights.

Example of Working Times:

• Early Shift: 06:00 – 14:24
• Late Shift: 14:00 – 22:24
• Night Shift: 22:00 – 06:24

Main Duties:

• Lead role in handling, restraining, moving, loading, and unloading animals.
• Ensure animal welfare and maintain bio-security standards.
• Coordinate vehicle movements on-site.
• Inform vets and inspectors of issues in consignments.
• Use scanners to check electronic identification of animals.
• Assist with the inspection of various products.
• Drive Departmental vehicles for portal duties.

Essential Criteria/Experience:

• One year’s experience within the last 5 years of handling livestock.
• One year’s experience within the last 5 years of handling equines.
• Full valid driving license allowing driving in NI.
• Basic Access NI Check

Additional Requirements:

• Travel: Appointees must have access to a form of transport.
