Job Title: Production Manager
Location: Merthyr

Salary: £30,000 but can be more for the right person

Hours: Full time permanent Monday – Friday days regular

As Production Manager your responsibilities will be expected to oversee the production process, coordinating all production activities and operations. assist with planning, control, organising and monitoring the flow of production process to be run reliably and efficiently, to ensure set target along with maximum performance with minimum delay.

Main Job roles:

  • Formulating and issuing production schedules
  • Planning and prioritising workflow to ensure maximum efficiency
  • Analysing plant capacity data to produce a logical and effective production plan.
  • Amending the production plan as and when required, sometimes at short notice.
  • Identifying any additional labour, equipment, and employee transitional work skill requests to cover production demand referring when necessary to Operations Manager.
  • Forecasting manpower resources to meet production and ultimately customers’ requirements.
  • Work as an effective member of the Operations team and closely with colleagues across the company including production, logistics, sales, and design to ensure the production plan meets client/dispatch requirements.
  • Ensure workflow is successfully scheduled and managed as per client requirements prior to dispatch in a cost-effective manner.
  • Regular review of planning run rates in conjunction with operational Department Supervisor / Manager
  • Attend and present planning information at production meetings
  • Undertakes and participates in any training and development as requested by the Company.
  • Supports on-the-job training and development of colleagues as necessary.
  • Performs any additional reasonable duties, as required by the company, to ensure the effective and efficient running of the production process schedule.
  • Ensure health and safety standards are always maintained
  • You’ll be involved in the pre-production (planning) stage as well as the production (control and supervision) stage. A large part of the job is dealing with people and resource management.

Required Experience

  • Previous Manufacturing experience is essential
  • Previous planning experience is essential
  • Previous management experience is desirable
  • Knowledge of production processes , efficiency via KPI and SWOT analysis is desirable
  • Detail-oriented, ability to multi-task and work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to form effective relationships with colleagues at all levels.
  • Ability to apply logic and reasoning to identify solutions to planning problems.
  • MS office skills in Outlook, Word, Excel
  • Flexible approach managing work within specific deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and think outside of the box
  • Ability to manage own workload and prioritise accordingly
  • Works with a high level of accuracy
