Job Title: Production Operative
Location: Rhymney
Salary: £14.43 per hour when full trained – Starting at £13.19 per hour
Hours: Full time. Monday – Friday 3 shift pattern – Mornings, Afternoons, Nights
Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting Production Operatives to work for a company based in Rhymney. This is a Temp to Perm contract.
Main Job Roles
- Feeding the recycling machines with a blend of polyethylene’s with the aim of providing a quality pellet
efficiently and effectively. (Rec) - Pack and palletise rolls of finished product neatly and safely, documenting accurately the weights of the rolls
sent for distribution. (Film) - Segregating contaminated / waste extrusion film, palletising, weighing and recording ‘scrap’ polythene before putting away into the scrap warehouse. (Film)
4. When scrap is in reel form, operation of the guillotine, to cut into manageable sizes for feeding into the
recycling machines during the shift. (Rec) - Monitoring and recording of film quality on line, through basic hand strength tests, visual checks and 4metre
- bench measures, action accordingly where standards are not to the desired level. (Film)
- 6. Maintaining effective filtration to the recycling machines by operation of Britas screens to both Erema’s and
changing Erema screens when required or as a minimum every 2hours. Follow the same principle of effective
filtration to the wash plant operation. (Rec) - Controlling the dimensions of the manufactured film by maintaining bubble size, regulating speed and thickness
- through the operation of the Plastcontrol system, adjustment of gusset boards and operation of top nips and winders. (Film)
- Regularly monitor Recycling shredders (Erema) to ensure flow of material through the extruders to prevent the
formation of lumps. In the event of ‘lumps’ forming in the shredder safe and effective teamwork must be
actioned to remove the same following the relevant work instruction. (Rec) - Monitor line parameters ensuring scrap is processed effectively, and under the guidance of your team leader
make adjustments as is necessary to suit the profile of the polyethylene being used. (Rec) - Ensure effective use of feedstock in the manufacture of film by blending the various types of ‘pellet’ available
changing the silos to the lines as required. (Film) - Clean screen changers every shift, pick up spillages of scrap / pellet immediately and store pallets to the
designated areas. (Rec / Film) - Carry out additional routine QC checks to ensure both film and pellet meet the required standard. Document as
necessary the results of tensile / elongation checks, dart impact tests and gas inclusion checks. (Rec / Film) - Maintain a high level of housekeeping, ensuring all areas are safe and tidy. (Rec / Film)
- Follow safe working procedures to ensure accidents – injury or otherwise – are not incurred. Ensure PPE is worn
at all times. (Rec / Film) - Convert mini rolls into handy packs, packing and palletising as determined by the customer, completing the
documentation that accompanies the task. (Rec / Film) - Follow reasonable requests made of them, cooperate with colleagues and superiors at all times and provide
support to other departments / sections as deemed necessary and appropriate. (Rec / Film)
Required Experience#
- Need Previous Manufacturing or heavy lifting experience
- Previous experience with extrusions is desireable
- Heavy lifting is involved
