The Recruitment co are currently recruiting for a Production Supervisor on behalf of our client based in Worsley, Manchester.
Salary 40,000-45,000 depending on experience
Monday – Friday 6am-2pm/2pm-10pm/10pm-6am
This is a permanent opportunity.
Purpose of the Role:
Assist the Production Manager responsible for the operation of an assigned area in terms of production, quality, cost,delivery, technical, safety, & HR, whilst respecting the defined goals. Responsible for the day-to-day management of
people within production so company’s targets & objectives are met to meet customer requirements. Ensure staff comply with H&S & standard operating procedures. Strive to continually improve to reduce costs, improve production & quality.
Act with minimum supervision.
Key Responsibilities:
General & Task Management
- Lead by example, ensuring a safe & efficient workplace is always maintained.
- Achieve the required company quality standards ensuring both internal & external customer satisfaction.
- Ensuring KPI’s are monitored & targets achieved.
- Liaise & coordinate with support functions to progress issues concerning production planning & resource/skill
allocation to ensure delivery of products to schedule within all relevant quality specifications. - Communicate with the teams by utilizing the visual management, delivering shift briefs with focus on quality, cost & delivery, & gathering ideas for improvement.
- Drive performance of team members, giving direction & feedback to aid good performance.
- Ensure safe working practices are maintained & ‘Standard Operations’ adhered to.
- Ensure non-conformance is challenged & countermeasures are agreed & implemented.
- Motivate the team to create a high-performance culture where improvement suggestions are embraced.
- Through the utilization of lean manufacturing techniques, strive to exceed the Company targets in productivity,
efficiency & quality on a continuous basis. - Support the implementation of engineering changes, production trials, model change & pilot build.
- Report & act upon machinery breakdowns to maintenance technicians.
- Contribute to the improvement of working procedures by looking for solutions to achieve the best productivity results.
- Ensure that internal delivery processes are adhered to support dispatch time windows.
- Support the resolution of Customer concerns. Identify & eliminate root cause using robust countermeasures. Sustain
the corrective actions to eliminate repeat issues. - Ensure all external & internal auditory standards & improvement requirements are met.
People Management - Supervise & control resource effectively to support customer delivery requirements & Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Deal with all HR issues concerning staff & train Operators on processes.
- Conduct incident, accident & non-conformity investigations & associated reporting & action closure.
- Monitor the completion of tasks & ensure good performance & record on appropriate systems.
Relationship Management
- Liaise & communicate with other departments & ensure an effective interface with is maintained.
- Feedback to the SLT to share ideas & improve operation, supporting & implementing continuous improvement
activities & process & procedure improvements to optimise results & improve quality of delivery, in line with quality
standards requirements delivered in line with Company & Customer requirements.
Self-Management - Support, comply & ensure complicity with H&S regulations, the Company Handbook, Quality & Environmental.

Experience Levels: - Proven track record within manufacturing environment & ability to design processes & layouts. Experienced with
