The Recruitment Co are recruiting for a Senior Quality Inspector in Rochdale

These positions are temporary to permanent after 12 weeks

The company specialises in the manufacturing of plastic moulding parts.

Working Monday – Friday on a rotating 6am-2pm / 2pm-10pm shift so candidates must be flexible to work both shifts.

The starting salary is £9.50 – £10.32 depending on experience and training, this will increase to £10.45 – £11.27 in April.

Main Objectives/Responsibilities

  • Manage the quarantine, investigation, repair / rework and reporting of all supplier, internal and external failures in the expected timescales.
  • Conduct product and process audits to verify the operators and supervision are complying with the build and process standards.
  • Collect the product and process data needed to support the business KPI’s on a daily and weekly basis and report to the Quality Supervisor.
  • Ensure all NPI (New Product Information), ECN and CI projects / changes are fully documented before being released to production.
  • Prepare and provide training for operators and supervision on product standards and process methods as requested by the Site Supervisor / Manager.
  • Lead and support cross functional teams as deemed necessary for each project.
  • Solve problems regarding quality issues using technical resources within the Company and suppliers.
  • Support production in an inspection / foreperson capacity as requested and agreed by production and quality management.

Qualifications:

  • Educated to GCSE level as a minimum.
  • Mathematically proficient
  • Knowledge of basic statistics
  • IT Literate
  • Use of MRP Systems (Syspro)

Required:

  • Experience as an Inspector in a manufacturing environment.
  • Familiarity with quality practices / procedures, inspection, testing and documentation.
  • Reading technical drawings.
  • Team leadership skills.
  • Ability to write reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to instruct individual employees and speak effectively in front of others.
  • Attention to detail
