Job Title: Transport Administrator (Temporary, with potential for Permanent role)
Location: Wick, Bristol
Salary: £26,000 per year
We are a reputable recruitment agency representing our esteemed client, based in Wick, Bristol. Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Transport Administrator to join their team. This position initially offers a temporary role for a few months, with the potential for a permanent position based on performance and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Receive and process customer orders for locally shipped plants through various channels, including telephone and digital platforms.
- Efficiently manage programmed orders and services to ensure smooth operations.
- Daily management of plant and truck capacities, aligning with targets and key performance indicators (KPIs).
- Ensure timely dispatch of products to customers, maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Collaborate with plant managers and hauliers to ensure the seamless running of daily operations.
- Modify in-process orders based on customer requests and proactively assess the feasibility of customer requirements.
- Plan and schedule future plant and truck availability.
- Effectively manage late loads, promptly notifying all relevant parties.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in different departments to ensure order processing aligns with established guidelines.
- Proactively resolve customer issues, complaints, or changes in requested orders.
- Identify the need for order re-negotiation to optimize customer satisfaction.
- Contribute to ongoing process improvements by identifying opportunities to reduce costs and enhance quality and efficiency.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on delivering exceptional experiences.
- Desirable experience with RMX/SAP systems.
- Previous experience in planning driver workload and product dispatch would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with the Gloucester/Cheltenham/Witney geographical area is desirable.
- Knowledge of driver hours regulations is beneficial.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high call traffic environment.
- Digital savvy, comfortable with digital platforms and tools.
