1. Networking.
You’d be amazed at how many people find out about jobs from simply talking to people they know, as opposed to the traditional means you’d expect such as job adverts etc. Therefore, it’s important you get out networking, talk to family, friends, co-workers, ex-colleagues – whoever! And find out where there might be work on offer.
2. Attracting employers.
By posting your CV online you’ll be saving yourself a lot of time and effort in your job hunt. Allowing potential employers to come and find you. Bear in mind, however, that this tip should always be employed along with traditional job hunting techniques and shouldn’t be done solely.
3. Target companies.
Research and look up any companies which you think might make a good employer and target them – simple.
4. Remain positive.
Everyone gets knockbacks when job hunting, it’s just part of the process. Remember to never take it personally and don’t feel disheartened, if you’re rejected always ask for feedback and use it to improve in your next interview.
5. Beating the competition.
Getting in quickly can mean you can land a job before it’s even advertised. Look into internal recruitment and seek out word-of-mouth advice, these are both effective ways of getting your foot in the door early on.
