Yard Operator

We are seeking a dedicated Production Line Operator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in ensuring the efficiency and quality of our production processes. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and committed to maintaining high standards.

Location: Herdman Channel Rd, Belfast BT3 9LG  DUNCRUE

Working Hours: Mon to Fri 8am-4:30pm

Pay: £11.25 Time and half for overtime, £12 once you are trained on machinery

Long term with a good chance of becoming permanent

Key Responsibilities:

1. Present 50kg pillow sacks to the bag-placer machine.
2. Conduct visual inspections at the end of the belt conveyor and remove out-of-specification sacks.
3. Operate IBC quad pack packing lines when required.
4. Perform visual inspections at the hooder station.
5. Clear the end of the 50kg line by moving finished products to intermediate storage after a visual check.
6. Load customers’ and hauliers’ vehicles with finished products from storage areas.
7. Conduct visual inspections at the end of IBC/50kg packing lines.
8. Offload and check goods inward against advice notes, reporting damages or shortages to the administration office.
9. Check loading permits, advise of any changes, and amend permits accordingly.
10. Perform maintenance routines and assist contract engineers under management instruction.
11. Assist in cleanup operations after spillages.
12. Carry out designated tasks in the packaged storage area, maintaining a tidy environment.
13. Ensure continuous filling of hoppers with the appropriate bulk product for uninterrupted production.
14. Keep the bulk silo area tidy and dry, reporting any issues to the management.
15. Report mechanical problems with shovels or forklift trucks to the management.
16. Monitor the condition of bulk products in silos and report any deterioration.
17. Address water penetration issues in the silo area.
18. Push up stacks in silo with a pusher blade when required.
19. Remove packaged materials from production lines efficiently.
20. Conduct check-weighs on IBC lines after prolonged stops and report details to the operator.

Requirements:

• Previous experience in a production line or manufacturing environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.
• Ability to operate machinery and perform routine maintenance tasks.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work well in a team.
• Flexibility to assist in various tasks contributing to the overall smooth operation.
