We are currently recruiting for an Accounting Technician based in Belfast. The successful candidates will be required to start once the vetting paperwork, ANI clearance has been completed.

Start date: ASAP

Duration: 6 months with a possibility of extension

Rate of pay: £17.43

Hours of work: Monday to Friday flexi hours 37 hours a week

Key Responsibilities:

The main purpose of the role is to be responsible for the daily running of the Central Accounting account. This will involve
• Preparing/assisting in the preparation of monthly and quarterly performance statistics
• Daily downloading of the Direct Data file from Danske and processing bank reconciliation on ISAAC. Advising cashier of missing transactions and follow up action to ensure that all are reconciled.
• Twice weekly processing of ISAAC payment file and printing reports.
• Checking monthly reconciliation of the Insolvency Account and ensuring it is completed on target and agrees with Danske.
• Running quarterly interest on ISAAC and paying surplus interest to DfE.
• Monthly monitoring of Danske interest rates and ensuring that ISAAC is updated as appropriate.
• Monthly reconciliation of the Deposit Account.
• 10% check of fees calculations to ensure that fees have been correctly calculated
• 100% quality assurance check of bankruptcy and company dividend fees before passing to Audit.
• Requesting write off approval from DfE for notional fees
• To oversee the Service First/Customer Service surveys
• Maintenance of the Insolvency Service website
• To act as ISAAC Administrator
• Management of valuables book
• Management of Insolvency, Court, Cashier and IVA mailboxes
• Performance management of CAU staff.

Essential Criteria applicants must have:

Proof of 5 GCSEs including English and Maths grade C or above or the equivalent to this and 3 A-levels

Accounting Technicians Diploma Level 5
Experience:
Numeracy essential and confidence with figure work
Be computer literate
Ability to acquire and maintain an appropriate level of knowledge through training and development both within the Insolvency Service and outside.
Ability to prioritise work
Flexibility
Be self motivated
Communication skills both written and oral
Ability to reach targets set
Ability to identify and recommend process improvements
Ability to work independently but yet act as part of a team when required
Ability to manage staff.
