Are you a detail-oriented, organized, and motivated individual looking to kickstart your career as an Administrative Officer? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you. We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in Newtownards for a 51-week duration.

Job Title: Administrative Officer

Location: Newtownards

Duration: 51 Weeks

Rate of Pay: £11.99 per hour

Start Date: ASAP – Must be fully registered to start

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9am – 5pm, 37 Hours Per Week

Key Responsibilities:

Grants and Funding:

  • Maintain, update, and enhance data on the Geographic Information System and Customer Information System.
  • Process applications and inspection results for various agricultural programs.
  • Handle Farm business applications and planning service requests.
  • Update the Customer Survey spreadsheet and process receipts.

Testing:

  • Process movement licenses, discrepancies, and issues.
  • Handle breakdowns and valuation papers.
  • Assist with the processing of printpend letters.

Identification, Registration, and Movement:

  • Process movement licenses.
  • Investigate discrepancies, issues, and animal group numbers.
  • Manage mart queries and illegal moves.
  • Handle applications for Isolation Facilities.

Customer Services Officer (front desk):

  • Provide information on services via telephone or face-to-face with customers.
  • Action map edits.
  • Enter and retrieve data.
  • Receipt customer documentation.
  • Provide continuous front-line cover during busy periods on a rota basis.

NIDA:

  • Verify the identity of customers.
  • Update all IT systems ensuring details match.
  • Analyze and investigate customer/agent queries and faults.
  • Create customer accounts and provide digital assistance.
  • Update customer records and report faults through the helpdesk.
  • Provide training and advice to colleagues.

Trade:

  • Monitor and process Export Health Certificates via the Export Certification Online system.
  • Assist with exporter queries and requests related to third country exports.

Corporate Tasks:

  • Provide departmental services to customers following standards and guidelines.
  • Attend training and development sessions as required.
  • Comply with departmental policies and procedures.
  • Assist with processing corporate returns and managing the epizootic store.
  • Provide support for ad hoc exercises and perform post/courier duties.

Essential Criteria:

  • Possess 5 GCSEs at grades A-C, including Maths and English (Proof required at the time of application).
  • Undergo an AccessNI check as part of the application process.
