Job Advertisement: Agriculture Lecturer

Start Date: 02/09/2024
Location: Greenmount, Antrim
Duration: 2024/2025 Academic Year (10 months); possibility of extension
Hours of Work: Monday to Friday, 9 am to 5 pm, 37 Hours per week
Rate of Pay: £19.55 Per Hour

Main Duties: 

Agriculture Lecturer: Animal production/ Crop production, Sustainability, Agri-business Management.
Duties include: –
– Planning and delivering lectures and practical classes to students enrolled on HE Agriculture courses on a range of topics eg;  Animal/crop production, sustainability, agri-business management
-Monitoring student attendance;
-Setting and marking student assessments,  providing feedback, preparing students for examinations and monitoring student progress on their course;
– Tutoring student groups and individual students;
– Ensure compliance with CAFRE and Awarding body quality assurance systems;
– Attendance at teaching team meetings.
-All other duties as allocated by Line Manger
Essential Criteria: 

The applicant must possess an Honours Degree in Agriculture or related discipline.

To deliver on these courses staff must be technically knowledgeable in the areas above.

 

Desired Criteria: 

Previous experience of delivery and assessment of student learning is also beneficial. Possession of, or currently undertaking a Higher Degree (MSc or PhD), in associated discipline.
