We are currently recruiting an Animal Welfare Officer to join our client in Carrickfergus
    • Temporary position until 31.03.2014
    • Monday to Friday 37 hours per week
    • Immediate start
    • £14.17 per hour
Job duties: 
  1. Responsible for the provision of a wide range of professional administration support services to staff working within the remit of the Animal Welfare Service and the wider Public Protection, Health and Wellbeing team.
  2. Contribute to the delivery and promotion of quality, customer focused and innovative Public Protection, Health and Wellbeing Department through the effective and efficient handling of callers and enquiries, including the provision of advice and signposting
  3. Provide a comprehensive and confidential admin service to the Animal Welfare Service
  4. Respond to telephone calls, emails and other enquiries from the public, external agencies, other council officers
  5. Allocate animal welfare cases based on prioritisation guidelines
  6. Issue standard correspondence to applicants, members of the public and business operators, loggings details on database
  7. Assist in the preparation of marketing materials for the service
  8. Operate manual and computerised information systems
  9. Assist in the preparation of marketing materials and publications for the service, and in updating Council’s website as appropriate
Essential Criteria : 
5 GCSES including English Language and Maths or equivalent
one years experience in an office environment to include- effective use of computerised information management systems
one years experience in an office environment to include – working as part of a team to deliver customer service to members
one year experience including ability to deal efficiently with large volumes of work and prioritising competing demands
Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
