Our client is looking for a ANPR Operator to join their team!

Rate of Pay: £12.05

Location: ANPR operators will be required to work across Northern Ireland on a daily basis. However, the vehicles are based at County Hall, Castlerock Road, Coleraine and the working day will start and finish at this location

Hours: Minimum of 8 hours per week

Shift pattern: As per rota (normally in a 3 week cycle – 2 days one week, 2 days the next and 1 day the third week)

Start Date: As soon as possible

Duration: Maximum 51 weeks

Details of any allowances: Over 5 hour meal allowance per shift

Job Description: 

ANPR Operators will be deployed across Northern Ireland to operate the ANPR vehicles that are used to detect unlicensed vehicles. ANPR vehicles are assigned to specific locations on a rotational basis. The ANPR vans contain cameras that read the number plates of passing vehicles and carry out an immediate check of the licensing status of the vehicle detected. The images obtained are used in support of prosecution and enforcement actions that may be initiated by the Agency on behalf of DVLA.

The ANPR Operator’s main duties and responsibilities include:
• there will be 1 driver per vehicle as in line with DVLAs lone driving operational procedures;

• driving ANPR vehicle to designated areas as and when required;

• safe operation and management of the vehicle allocated and associated computer equipment;

• reporting all system and vehicle faults immediately on detection;

• ensuring locations have been risk assessed in line with agreed Health and Safety procedures and completion of risk assessment proformas;

• responsibility for the setting up and handling of equipment and digital evidence;

• operation of ANPR vehicle in a wide range of weather conditions and deployment in various locations including motorways, urban and rural roads;

• operation of cameras to agreed accuracy levels;

• general vehicle maintenance tasks including completion of log records, logging mileage and fuel and routine maintenance checks of oil, petrol, tyres etc.

• liaison with equipment engineers and the system provider over hardware, job failures, servicing and vehicle repairs;

• operators may be required on an occasional basis to transport vehicles to the mainland for upgrades etc., and to attend training courses or meetings held there by DVLA

• in the event that ANPR work is not available ANPR operators will be required to undertake other office based administrative duties at the discretion of line management;

• any other duties as and when required.

NOTE:
• ANPR drivers are required to be flexible as the role demands early starting times and, on occasions, late finishing times depending on location.

• Whilst the position is for a minimum of 8 hours per week applicants are required to flexible in their availability throughout the week as they may on occasion be required to work extra days during busy periods.

• As the vehicles need to be operational on a daily basis the ability to approve leave requests, particularly at short notice, will be somewhat limited.

 

Essential Criteria: 

1. Have had a full driving licence for a minimum of 1 year
