Assistant Information Governance Officer

£13.57 per hour

JOB SUMMARY

The post holder will be required to manage requests for personal information from third parties ensuring that statutory timescales are met, acting as the first point of contact for all enquiries.
The Assistant Information Governance Officer will work within the Informatics Department. The Department has workflow responsibilities including Information Governance, Informatics and Clinical Audit functions

KEY DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

To act as the first point of contact for subject access requests from solicitors, police, courts and other third parties.
Contribute to the development and implementation of the Trust’s information lifecycle management policy ensuring that contents reflect regional guidance and legislation, and any amendments are included in any future revisions.

Manage and respond to enquiries from solicitors and police for information requests, ensuring confidentiality is maintained and statutory timescales are met, in line with the Data Protection legislation including the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Provide support to the IG Compliance Lead and Senior IG Officer with regard to subject access requests submitted by individuals.

Provide support to the IG Compliance Lead and Senior IG Officer with regard to FOIA and EIR requests submitted by individuals.

Report any areas of concern identified during audits through the Trust incident reporting process to ensure lessons can be learned.

Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to support requests for information.
Produce weekly statistical returns on key performance indicators for IG related work-streams using Microsoft office

HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Review individually, at least annually, the performance of immediately subordinate staff, provides guidance on personal development requirements and advises on and initiates, where appropriate, further training.
2. Maintain staff relationships and morale amongst the staff reporting to him/her.
3. Review the organisation plan and establishment level of the service for which he/she is responsible to ensure that each is consistent with achieving objectives, and recommend change where appropriate.

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

Experience

Experience of using Microsoft packages including Word, Excel, and Outlook
Experience of Communicating with third parties.
Can demonstrate a knowledge of Data Protection legislation including the General Data Protection Regulation

Qualifications/ Registration

1. HNC / HND or equivalent / higher qualification in an administrative related field AND 1 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role at Band 3 or equivalent/above

2. OR 4 GCSEs at Grades A-C including English Language and Maths or equivalent / higher qualification AND 2 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role (with at least 1 year of this to be at Band 3 or equivalent/above)

3.OR 3 years’ experience in a clerical / administrative role (with at least 1 year of this to be at Band 3 or equivalent/above
