🕒 Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours/week (Monday–Friday, 9:00–16:30)

We are currently recruiting for a Band 4 Assistant Psychologist to join a specialist rehabilitation service supporting adults with acquired brain injury and neuro-behavioural challenges. This is a rewarding opportunity to contribute to a low-stimulus, slow-stream day care setting focused on recovery and person-centred care.
About the Setting
Mourne Day Centre is located within Knockbracken Healthcare Park and provides structured rehabilitation for adults with complex cognitive, emotional, and behavioural needs following brain injury. The service is delivered by a multidisciplinary team including Day Care Workers (DCWs), Allied Health Professionals (AHPs), and clinical leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the day-to-day operations of the unit under the guidance of the Clinical Lead and Manager.
- Conduct assessments and contribute to individual and group therapeutic activities.
- Participate in formal reviews and service evaluations.
- Assist with risk assessment, management, and reporting.
- Accompany service users on external visits and activities.
- Contribute to audit, training, and service development initiatives.
- Receive regular supervision and professional development support.
Essential Criteria
- University-level qualification in Psychology (BSc or higher) with Graduate Basis for Registration with the British Psychological Society (BPS).
- Valid driving licence and access to a vehicle (unless prevented by disability).
- Knowledge of the impact of brain injury on adult cognitive, emotional, and behavioural functioning.
- ICT proficiency.
- Access NI clearance.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience delivering activity-based programmes to individuals with disabilities.
- Exposure to practice-related research or service evaluation.
- Familiarity with patient record systems (e.g., PARIS).
- Additional relevant education or training.
