Building Supervisor

Location: Dungannon
Salary: £25,583 – £25,989 per annum (pro rata)
Hours: 36 hours per week

  • Monday: 9:30am – 5:30pm (45-minute break)
  • Tuesday: 9:30am – 5:30pm (45-minute break)
  • Wednesday: 9:30am – 5:30pm (45-minute break)
  • Thursday: 12:15pm – 8:00pm (45-minute break)
  • Friday: 9:30am – 5:30pm (45-minute break)

36 hours per week

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Building Supervisor (Without Supervision) on behalf of our client in Dungannon. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced caretaker, building attendant, or facilities professional to play a key role in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming library environment.

The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the facility, ensuring the building is maintained to a high standard while providing a professional service to staff, visitors, and members of the public.

Key Responsibilities

  • Open and close library premises in accordance with operational requirements.
  • Undertake key holder duties and maintain the security of the building.
  • Carry out routine inspections and report maintenance issues as required.
  • Support and oversee cleaning activities to ensure a high standard of cleanliness throughout the facility.
  • Operate cleaning equipment, including electrical cleaning machinery.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety legislation and best practice.
  • Assist in maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff and visitors.
  • Provide support across other Libraries NI locations as required.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must possess:

  • A full valid driving licence.
  • A minimum of one year’s experience as an Assistant Building Supervisor, Caretaker, Building Attendant, or in a similar role within a medium to large building.
  • Previous experience with opening and closing premises, building security, and key holder responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of building cleaning methods and procedures.
  • Experience operating electrical cleaning equipment, such as floor polishing machines.
  • Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures, including COSHH and/or CLP regulations.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Additional Requirements

  • Flexibility to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends when required.
  • Willingness to work across multiple Libraries NI locations.
  • Suitable for working in environments involving children and vulnerable adults.
