Position: Business Analyst (DP)

Pay Rate: £24.59 per hour

Hours: Full Time – 9 to 5; Monday to Friday

Duration: up to 29th March 2026 with possibility of extension

Start Date: ASAP

Location: NIEA Lisburn, 17 Antrim Road, Lisburn BT28 3AL

 

Job Duties:

The main duties and responsibilities are:
1. Strategic:
Lead and manage tasks which contribute to the achievement of DAERA statutory planning targets and Business Plan objectives.
2. Data Analysis and Business Intelligence:
Analysis of data related to planning consultation responses, from internal database Excel reports,into actionable insights including: Data Visualization: Using Microsoft tools to create dashboards and reports that track consultation response performance and response rates, amongst other parameters.
3. Engagement and Communication:
Develop and maintain relationships with internal NIEA Planning teams to gather and understand comprehensive data ensuring transparency and accuracy of reporting. Preparation of and Contribution to Written Reports including updates to senior managers; provision of data to feed into Elected Representative and other responses regarding planning performance; provision of input to papers such as NIEA Board.
4. Project Management:
Manage requests successfully to ensure meaningful performance management data is provided to senior staff within deadline. Improve and enhance current management information provided and facilitate the development of BI solutions that support informed decision-making.
5. Governance:
Following NICS Records Management processes to ensure good governance. Amendment to and creation of guidance documents where required.

Essential Criteria:

A second-class honours degree
AND
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in using data analysis tools and techniques and creation of management information dashboards /summaries.
OR

A minimum of 2 years’ experience of effective leadership, setting strategic direction and managing resources to successfully deliver business objectives in a complex and changing environment;
AND
• A minimum of 2 years’ experience of building constructive, positive and collaborative partnerships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including senior management, to effectively deliver significant organisational objectives.
AND
• A minimum of 1 years’ experience in using data analysis tools and techniques and creation of management information dashboards /summaries.

 

Desired Experience: 

• Good knowledge of Excel. Experience with Power BI would be desirable.
• Experience working with a wide range of teams.
• Preparation of clear, concise and accurate reports.
• Proven project management skills are required to ensure deadlines are met
