Business Analyst

Location: Belfast
Pay Rate: £24.45 per hour
Hours: 37.5 hours per week

We are currently recruiting for a Business Analyst to join a dynamic digital services team. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced analyst to play a key role in delivering ICT projects, driving service improvements, and supporting system development within a large and complex organisation.

The Role

As a Business Analyst, you will work closely with stakeholders to analyse business processes, gather requirements, support system implementations, and ensure projects deliver effective solutions that meet business needs. You will contribute to service improvement initiatives, testing activities, reporting, and change management across a range of projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyse and document business processes, workflows, and system requirements.
  • Engage with stakeholders to gather, validate, and prioritise business needs.
  • Support the delivery of ICT projects and service improvement initiatives.
  • Produce clear documentation, reports, process maps, and project updates.
  • Coordinate and participate in testing activities to ensure successful system implementation.
  • Work collaboratively with project teams, technical staff, and external suppliers.
  • Support change management, training, and business readiness activities.
  • Present findings and recommendations to a variety of audiences.
  • Monitor project progress and contribute to successful project delivery.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have either:

  • A Degree or HND with at least 3 years’ relevant experience in an ICT environment; or
  • At least 5 years’ relevant experience in an ICT environment.

Candidates should also demonstrate:

  • Experience working as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience gathering and documenting business requirements.
  • Knowledge of business analysis methodologies and techniques.
  • Understanding of project management principles.
  • Experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Experience supporting testing activities and system implementations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience working within a healthcare or public sector environment.
  • Project management or project coordination experience.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Scrum Master experience.
