MY client based in Guisborough is looking for a Business Coordinator to join their team on a permanent basis.
The main purpose of the role is to organise and manage administrative systems relating to resources and finance within Trust and make a major contribution to the successful management and administration.
Duties include:
- Contribute to the preparation of a realistic and balanced budget for the schools within the Trust
- Actively monitor and control expenditure, using accurate coding to maximise the benefits to all budgets and grants, achieving value for money
- Monitor financial trends and providing a basis for forecasting future years’ budgets
- Be responsible for the effective management of financial administrative procedures, including responsibility for compliance with financial regulations
- Identify the need for, select and manage the ordering of supplies, services and equipment for the school including the authorisation of invoices within the Trusts Accounting software
- Manage procurement and commissioning, prepare specifications for contracts, SLA’s and tenders, and monitor the provision of support services in line with contracts and SLA’s.
- Ensure the proper collection, reconciliation and banking of any monies received by the school
- Ensure all expenditure is correctly coded to ensure maximum use of all budgets and grants
- Maintain an inventory and register of assets
- Manage site specific insurance claims and issues (including making claims) and ensure that contingency plans are in place in liaison with the SLT
- Monitor and evaluate the operation of financial policies and procedures, recommending changes as required
- Prepare accurate financial returns as required by the local authority and / or other relevant bodies, such as Catch Up Funding, Pupil Premium, Sports Premium and Nursery returns
- Maintain the cashless payment systems for the schools in the Trust
Essential
- Educated to Level 3 standard or equivalent related work experience, plus a minimum of 4 GCSEs at A-C grade, including Maths and English
- Ability to develop services and systems applicable for effective record keeping and school administration management
- Excellent spread sheet and/or database skills.
- Knowledge of school financial procedures
- Experience of managing budget management, financial reporting and procurement
- Ability to produce, analyse and evaluate financial information
- Confident and competent in financial management
- Full working knowledge of relevant Health and Safety and Safeguarding procedures.
Desirable
- Recognised Finance or School Business Management qualification
- Previous experience of premises management and contracts legislation
- Knowledge of health and safety including risk assessments
- Experience of working in a school environment
Salary: £30k-32k
Hours: 37hrs per week, TTO + 10 days
Role: Permanent position, subject to passing a DBS and background checks
