We have a fantastic opportunity for you to join our client, based in Ballymena as a full-time Business Consultant. This is a long-term temporary opportunity.

Our client is Northern Ireland’s Leading Public Sector Employer.

Administrator Pay Rate: £19.59 per hour

Start Date: 9th March

Location: Ballymena, however, working location is flexible with Rural Affairs staff headquartered at other locations, such as Jubilee House, Ballykelly. The application of the hybrid working policy will be considered. Travel to other locations in NI will be required

Hours of Work: 

  • 37 Hours per week
  • Monday to Friday

Job Duties: 

  • To assist in the development of an Outline Business Case in partnership with NICS Departments to give consideration about developing future programmes with the aim of continuing to work collaboratively to implement a strategic and integrated approach to support and invest in rural communities.
  • Engaging with policy makers across government, public authorities including other jurisdictions, rural voluntary and community sector stakeholders and academics.
  • To support the development of emerging future policy proposals in line with a new rural champion and funding model to support the delivery of DAERA’s wider policy objectives in relation to agriculture and the environment.
Essential Criteria: 
  • Skilled in use of MS Suite products and video-conferencing software.
  • Business Cases – experience of liaising with different departments to inform and build relevant business cases based on the five-case model, including assessment of value for money.
  • Skilled in Financial forecasting and modelling.
  •  Project management – experience of liaising with different departments/ delivery leads to ensure work is delivered on time to a high standard.
  •  Ability to work on own initiative.
  •  5 GCSEs incl. English & Maths and 2 A levels with a minimum of 12/18 months’ experience.

Desired Experience and Qualifications:

  • A qualification or experience in Business Studies, Economics or a related field.

An Access NI will be required for this role:
