📣 Business Support Administrator – Lisburn HQ
£15.38 per hour | Full‑Time | Headquarters Based (Lisburn)
Temporary Position – Immediate Start Available
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our public‑sector client for an experienced Business Support Administrator to join the Corporate Governance & Improvement Directorate at their Lisburn Headquarters. This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and professional administrator seeking a busy and rewarding role within a high‑profile organisation.
⭐ The Role
The successful candidate will provide modern, efficient and customer‑focused administrative support as part of the Governance & Business Support team. Key responsibilities include:
Front‑of‑House & Switchboard
- Providing an effective reception and switchboard service, acting as first point of contact for callers and visitors.
- Managing telephone enquiries, signposting appropriately and delivering first‑class customer service.
Administration & Business Support
- Supporting meetings through agenda preparation, minute taking, and follow‑up admin tasks.
- Preparing letters, memos, reports, statistics and confidential documents.
- Managing incoming/outgoing mail, visitor access control, ID pass distribution and deliveries.
- Maintaining databases, records, spreadsheets and electronic filing systems.
- Supporting organisational compliance, including GDPR and information management procedures.
General Duties
- Updating logs, supporting multiple directorates, and assisting with research tasks such as venue sourcing.
- Providing excellent customer service and contributing to the performance of the Business Support function.
⭐ Essential Criteria
Candidates must meet the following:
- 5 GCSEs Grade C or above, including English & Maths (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years’ experience in a demanding office environment providing business support.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Excellent planning, organisation and communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong customer‑service focus.
⭐ Desirable (Not Essential)
- Experience taking minutes and producing action plans
- Experience managing a busy switchboard
- Experience within local government or the public sector [
