Catering Assistant / Stores Assistant

Location: Craigavon
Pay Rate: £12.71 per hour
Hours: 7:30am to 8:00pm (rota basis)
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday
Duration: Immediate start, initially for 3 months to cover sickness

The Role

The Recruitment Co is currently recruiting for a Catering Assistant / Stores Assistant to join a busy catering team in Craigavon.

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised and reliable individual who is comfortable using computer systems and able to support both catering operations and stores management. Full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities

Catering Duties

• Carry out general Catering Assistant duties within a busy catering department.
• Assist with food preparation and basic kitchen duties.
• Clear, clean, and prepare work areas to maintain high hygiene standards.
• Operate dishwashing equipment and ensure all catering utensils and equipment are cleaned appropriately.
• Assist with the collection, cleaning, and portering of food trolleys to and from wards and departments.
• Follow all food hygiene and health and safety procedures.

Stores Duties

• Accept, check, and store food and non-food deliveries appropriately.
• Ensure stock is rotated and stored correctly in line with food safety procedures.
• Contact suppliers as required regarding deliveries and stock issues.
• Check invoices and delivery notes, ensuring information is recorded accurately.
• Update and maintain records using relevant computer systems.
• Assist with stock control, stock rotation, and inventory management.
• Monitor and record food temperatures in accordance with departmental procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation and records.

General Responsibilities

• Work effectively as part of the catering and stores team.
• Provide excellent support to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the department.
• Comply with all Trust policies, health and safety requirements, and food hygiene regulations.

Desirable Experience

Previous experience in:

• Catering services
• Stores or stock control
• Food handling and food preparation
• Goods receiving and delivery checking
• Warehouse or similar environments

Previous experience is desirable but not essential, as full training will be provided.
