Clerical Officer (Band 2) – School Nursing Admin (Temporary)

Are you an organised and proactive administrator looking for a rewarding role within Health & Social Care? We are seeking a Clerical Officer to join the School Nursing Team, supporting key public health programmes that make a real impact on the health and wellbeing of children and young people across the Armagh and Dungannon area.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience within a busy healthcare environment while working as part of a supportive and dedicated team.

Hours: Monday to Friday
Contract: Temporary
Band: Band 2

What You’ll Be Doing

As a vital member of the School Nursing Team, you will help ensure the smooth delivery of services including the Healthy Child, Healthy Future Programme, regional immunisation programmes and paediatric flu vaccination campaigns.

Your duties will include:

  • Providing administrative support to School Nurses and management.
  • Preparing and distributing information packs and correspondence to schools.
  • Liaising with schools, GP surgeries and parents.
  • Typing letters, reports and other documentation.
  • Managing telephone enquiries, appointments and diaries.
  • Maintaining accurate records and updating computerised systems.
  • Processing incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Ordering office supplies and monitoring stock levels.
  • Filing, photocopying and carrying out general office duties.
  • Providing clerical cover across Trust locations when required.

What We’re Looking For

Essential Criteria

Applicants must have:

Either:

  • 3 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language (or equivalent/higher qualification), and 1 year’s experience in a clerical or administrative role.

Or:

  • 2 years’ experience in a clerical or administrative role.

In addition, applicants must have:

  • Experience using Microsoft Word or equivalent.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (reasonable adjustments will be considered where appropriate).
