Clerical Officer, School Nursing Admin Teams – Band 3

Location: Fermanagh Recovery SWAH x2 days and Omagh Recovery Omagh Hopsital x3 days

Pay Rate: £12.75 per hour
Contract: Temporary – Ongoing
Hours: 37.5 per week Mon- Fri 9am – 5pm

This role provides administrative and clerical support to the School Nursing Core and Immunisation Teams, helping to deliver the Healthy Child, Healthy Future Programme, including school vaccination and paediatric flu programmes.

Main Responsibilities

  • Providing administrative support to school nurses and managers.
  • Preparing and distributing vaccination information packs to schools.
  • Delivering and collecting correspondence from schools across the local area.
  • Contacting GP surgeries and parents to obtain or update vaccination information.
  • Typing letters, reports, and other documents.
  • Filing, photocopying, and carrying out general office duties.
  • Managing telephone enquiries, diaries, appointments, and meetings.
  • Handling incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Ordering and checking office supplies and stores.
  • Entering and retrieving information from computer systems, including the Child Health System.
  • Providing clerical cover across the Trust when required.

Key Skills Required

  • Good administration and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and telephone skills.
  • Accurate data entry and record-keeping.
  • Competence in Microsoft Office and general IT systems.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to travel within the Fermanagh/Omagh area and support other locations when needed.

You must have either:

  • 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C) including English Language and Maths (or an equivalent/higher qualification), OR
  • At least 1 year of experience in a clerical or administrative role.

In addition, you must have:

  • Experience using at least one Microsoft Office application (such as Word, Excel, or Outlook) or an equivalent software package.
  • A full UK driving licence and access to a car for work purposes (unless a disability prevents driving and suitable alternative transport is available).

  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise workload.
  • Good communication skills to interact professionally with colleagues, schools, GP surgeries, parents, and the public.
