Clerical Officer – Craigavon

Location: Craigavon
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Enhanced Rates: £17.92 per hour (Saturday) | £23.26 per hour (Sunday)
Hours: 25 hours per week
Working Pattern: Monday to Friday, 3:00pm to 8:00pm, with 1 weekend in 6 (once trained). Time off in lieu will be provided during the following week.
Contract: Temporary, 6-month assignment

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for a Clerical Officer to join a busy laboratory administration team in Craigavon. This role is focused on data entry and admin support, ensuring lab information is accurately recorded and maintained.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately enter laboratory requests onto laboratory information system.
  • Check and verify data entered against original request forms and existing records.
  • Use various computer systems, including EPIC and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Operate scanning and automated data capture systems and retrieve records when required.
  • Handle telephone enquiries from GP practices, health centres, hospital wards and other healthcare professionals.
  • Process incoming and outgoing mail.
  • Provide general clerical and administrative support, including photocopying and document preparation when required.
  • Adhere to departmental quality procedures and policies.
  • Support effective team working and maintain high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Carry out any other reasonable duties as directed by management.

Essential Criteria

Applicants must possess either:

  • 4 GCSEs (Grades A-C), including English Language (or equivalent qualification)

OR

  • At least 1 year’s experience in a clerical or administrative role

And:

  • Experience using Microsoft Office applications or equivalent computer systems.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good communication and organisational skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
