Pay Rate: £11.45 per hour
Contract: Full-time, Shifts on Rota including some weekends

Are you a skilled Cook looking for an exciting opportunity to showcase your culinary talents? We are currently seeking a dedicated individual to join our team in the Catering Department.

Job Summary / Main Purpose: As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of meals and specialized culinary items independently or as part of a team. This includes catering for dietary requirements, maintaining hygienic conditions, and ensuring the proper use and handling of equipment.

Main Duties / Responsibilities:

• Prepare, cook, dispatch, and serve meals, snacks, and beverages to agreed menus and standards.
• Cater for dietary requirements and special functions as required.
• Maintain hygienic conditions in food preparation and storage.
• Ensure proper cleaning, washing-up, and storage of crockery, equipment, and utensils.
• Utilize resources efficiently and rectify defects as needed.
• Adhere to safety regulations and procedures.
• Attend training sessions and assist with staff development as required.
• Maintain records related to meals served, stock control, and cash control.
• Maintain personal hygiene and hygienic catering practices at all times.
• Contribute ideas for staff menus, functions, and catering service improvements.
• Order and check food supplies, ensuring quantity and quality control.

Essential Criteria:

• City & Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 certificates or equivalent
  OR
  3 years relevant cooking experience
  OR
  City & Guilds 706/1 and 2 years relevant cooking experience
  OR
  NVQ Level 2 in Catering
  AND
  Basic Food Hygiene Certificate
