Our Client is a dynamic and forward-thinking law firm located in the heart of Manchester. They have a strong reputation for providing high-quality legal services to their clients across various practice areas.

As part of their commitment to delivering excellence, they are excited to introduce a new function within their organisation by hiring a skilled and motivated Costs Draftsman. This has previously been outsourced.

As a Costs Draftsman you will be at the forefront of their efforts to streamline and enhance our costs management and recovery processes. This is a unique opportunity to join a growing team and make a significant impact on their operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with the legal teams to prepare and draft detailed bills of costs.
• Assess and analyse legal costs, ensuring accuracy and compliance with applicable rules and guidelines.
• Manage the costs recovery process, negotiating with opposing parties and third-party funders when necessary.
• Assist in the preparation of costs budgets and attend costs-related hearings as required.
• Stay up-to-date with changes in costs law and regulations, ensuring that our practices are in line with current standards.
• Provide cost-related advice and guidance to our legal professionals.
• Play a key role in the development and implementation of efficient costs management systems within the firm.
• Maintain comprehensive records and documentation related to costs

Qualifications:

• Proven experience as a Costs Draftsman.
• Strong knowledge of costs law, rules, and regulations in the UK.
• Proficiency in using relevant software and tools for costs drafting and management.
• Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical abilities.
