Our client in Belfast is currently seeking a temporary ongoing Full-time District Library Manager

Hours of work:

Monday, Wednesday & Friday 9-5

Tuesday 12-8 & 1 in 4 Saturdays (Rota based)

Rate of pay £19.73ph
Saturday rate of pay £29.60ph

Job Duties

• Core services to clients: Ensure that all services are provided to consistently high standards and comply with current library policy and procedures
• Staff Management:Manage teams, coordinating the work of staff to deliver excellent library services and customer care
• Represent Libraries NI and work with partners and other organisations to ensure the development and delivery of library services/ programmes
• Represent and advocate on behalf of Libraries NI in meetings with statutory, voluntary, community and private sector organisations, etc.
• Assist in the review and assessment of user needs to ensure the effective management and use of resources
• Contribute to the creation, implementation, monitoring and review of Libraries NI policies and procedures

Essential Criteria

• Qualifications:
  1. A third level qualification or higher and at least two years’ experience of managing staff and resources.
  OR
  a minimum of four years’ relevant experience of managing staff and resources.
  Experience:
  2. A minimum of one years’ experience in supporting the development or delivery of library services within the last six years
  3. Experience of liaising/working with internal and/or external stakeholders to achieve service objectives
  4. Experience of managing and implementing change to meet organisational objectives
  5. Experience of promoting and improving customer service to enhance the customer experience.
• Able to travel around different library branches around Belfast City Centre
