Job Title: Electrical Engineer
Location: Pontypool
Salary: £35,000 per annum

Hours: Full time permanent, days regular Monday to Thursday: 7.25am to 4.25pm Fridays: 7.25am to 12.25pm

Here at The Recruitment Co we are currently recruiting an Electrical Engineer to work for a company based Pontypool.

You would be Responsible for the design and maintenance of electrical control systems for all types of manufactured production machines and developing a wide range of skills in all aspects of electrical engineering to support manufactured production machines i.e. electrical design, electrical testing, and electrical commissioning.

Main Job Roles
Evaluating customer specifications and electrical requirements, design/modify electrical circuits and layout drawings for machine and control panels, produce electrical bill of materials for parts on machines and in control panels and design/modify PLC and HMI software for manufactured production machines.
Compiling RFQ design packs for control panels, junction boxes and operator consoles, you will carry out testing and validation of new equipment , customer witness testing on buy off machines and Electrical commissioning at customer sites.
Maintaining shop floor equipment though preventative maintenance.
Occasional travel abroad for equipment testing.
Health and Safety

• To ensure safe working practices are observed and the Health and Safety Policy is adhered to always.
• Adhering to Company Health and Safety polices at all times, wearing the correct company PPE while working
• Reporting any hazards or incidents to the appropriate Safety representative.
• To maintain a high standard of housekeeping at all times
• Compliance with COSHH standards by ensuring safe use of chemicals

Required Experience

• Experience of working with fabrication equipment
• Good working knowledge of CNC machining and hands on experience of operating CNC machining
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and job information packs
• Working knowledge of production manufacturing methods
• Working knowledge of tooling and tool maintenance
• Problem Solving
• Detail conscious
• 3 years’ experience in a similar role
• It is essential the successful candidate possesses good health and safety awareness and knowledge and holds a full, clean driving licence. They must have strong attention to detail and must be trustworthy, committed, reliable and as the face of the company must have strong customer service skills. They will also need to be flexible in terms of working hours.
• HNC/D in Electrical Engineering.

Desirable

• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
• Ideally has experience of working with flat-bed lasers
• Work experience of using hand tools such as grinders, drill, hammer etc.
• Knowledge of Autocad
• Good understanding of control panel design, form and function
• Good understanding of control systems for high volume, high production machinery
• A systematic and practical approach to fault finding and system start-up
• Design skills in electrical engineering including PLC and HMI design
