Job Title: Electrical Maintenance Engineer
Location: Bridgwater
Salary: £40,000 – £50,000 per annum
Hours: Monday -Thursday 07:30 – 16:30. Friday 07:00- 13:00

Our very well established client in Bridgwater have an exciting opportunity for a Electrical Maintenance Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. This person must have Competency/experience as per description below but needs to have a good PLC knowledge and CAD drawing experience and at least 5 years experience in an electrical role.

Reporting Structure:
The Position reports into the Maintenance Manager. The position has no direct reports.

Working Environment:
Office and Workshop based, requiring regular presence within all plant areas. Summary: The role is responsible for the provision of electrical maintenance support to plant and facilities. The role will form a key part of the team responsible for the development and improvement of site safety protocols. The role holder will be expected to work occasionally outside of standard core working hours.

Duties and Responsibilities:
* Completion of planned preventative maintenance activities, as driven by the Company’s Maintenance Management System.
* Completion of reactive maintenance activities, as driven by plant & production breakdown requirements.
* Plant modifications in line with established procedures.
* Installation of new machinery in line with established procedures.
* Completion of routine maintenance tasks, such as fixing and replacing lighting fixtures and fittings.
* Working with specialist equipment such as Programmable Logic Controls (PLC’s) which control machinery within production factory areas.
* Management and execution of project work.
* Liaison with third party contractors/suppliers, as necessary, to ensure that externally contracted engineering resources meet the required standards and execution timings.
* Electrical system design and evaluation of externally designed electrical systems.

Requirements:
* Educated to Degree level within a relevant discipline and/or holding a relevant professional qualifications.
* A qualified CompEx Electrical Engineer
o Ex01-Ex04 – Inspection & Installation – required (training will be provided if candidate is unqualified)
o Ex12 – Design – desirable

Preference will be given to graduate applicants holding relevant professional qualifications, although applicants with relevant experience and time-served apprentices in electrical and mechanical maintenance disciplines who display a willingness to quickly work towards achieving any identified qualification gaps will be considered.
* Familiarity with regulations such as COMAH and PUWER.
* The ability to read electrical/mechanical schematic & drawings (experience of using CAD preferred).
* PLC programming knowledge and experience preferred.
* Demonstrable understanding of pneumatic systems.
* Minimum 5 years experience in a manufacturing and/or chemical industry environment.
* Experience of working with Asset Management / Computerised Maintenance Management Systems.
* Familiarity with ERP systems (i.e. Microsoft Dynamics, SAP, Oracle or a cloud-based system) is desired.
* Experience and competence with use of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, Powerpoint and experience of using reporting tools such as Power BI.
* Excellent planning, organisational and task prioritisation skills, with the ability to self-prioritise own workload.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills at all organisational levels.
* Self-motivated, with the ability to develop strong collaborative working relationships with both internal and external customers to deliver organsational goals.
* Willingness to modify standard working hours to accommodate plant unlock/lock-up, on-call cover and critical maintenance works that must be conducted during non-operational production hours.

Performance Evaluation:
Performance will be evaluated on an on-going basis against departmental objectives and performance indicators, as well as in the form of a formal annual employee performance and development review.

The position is expected to comply with all aspects of the Company’s Safety Management System, as well as its ISO 9001 accredited Quality Management System and ISO 14001 accredited Environmental Management System.
