Job Role: Equine Instructor
Location: Enniskillen
Pay: £15.97 per hour (Paid Weekly)
Duration: Up to 6 Months (Possible Extension)
Start Date: ASAP
Working Pattern: Flexible.
The successful candidate may be required to work outside normal hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
Job Outline:
The Equine Instructor will be responsible for a range of duties, including:
- Planning, setting up, and delivering practical equine classes to students in the racing, equitation, and breeding units at CAFRE Enniskillen Campus.
- Supporting lecturers, instructors, and industrial staff in delivering practical education and knowledge transfer to learners in both face-to-face and online settings.
- Monitoring and reporting on students enrolled in educational programs and short courses.
- Assisting students with dissertation work and ensuring student practicals are conducted as planned, including data capture.
- Carrying out day-to-day equine management duties in the equine units.
- Recording information (e.g., electronic data) related to the equine units.
- Ensuring compliance with CAFRE Health and Safety policies and contributing to Health and Safety management on and off-site.
- Supervising learners and recording information associated with CAFRE education, events, and other activities, both on and off-campus (e.g., assessment outcomes, learner attendance).
- Performing driving duties, including driving departmental vehicles and towing trailers.
- Assisting with general estate and farm duties as required.
Note: This list is not exhaustive but outlines the main responsibilities of the role.
Desired Criteria:
- A driving license entitling the person to tow a trailer (Category B+E).
- Teaching qualification or experience.
Essential Criteria:
- A formal equine qualification to at least Level 3 (e.g., NVQ Level 3, British Horse Society Stage 3, Level 3 Extended Diploma in Equine Management) or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of full-time equivalent experience in the equine industry.
- A full, current driving licence enabling the holder to drive in Northern Ireland.
The role holder MUST complete an Enhanced Access NI Background Check.
