Position: Executive Officer (EO2)

Pay Rate: £15.83 per hour

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9 to 5

Duration: Sunday 4th of October 2026 with possibility of extension

Start Date: ASAP

Location: Castle Buildings, Stormont Estate, Belfast BT4 3SL

(at least 2 days per week)

 


 

Job Duties:

  • Seek/gather/organise information and data to be used for input to briefings, responses to Assembly Questions and other ad hoc requests.
  • Set up first draft responses to Private Office Enquiries (POEs) – including AQs, Correspondence cases, Invitation cases – and to other ad hoc requests, as required.
  • Liaise with relevant organisations/business areas including PHA, SPPG, BSO, DHSC, HSC Trusts, other government Departments and other Units within the Department of Health.
  • Undertake research, as required
  • Secretariat duties including minute taking as required.
  • Ensure all relevant correspondence is filed on Content Manager.
  • Use AccountNI to set up Purchase Orders, run COGNOS reports and cross check with branch spreadsheets.
  • Oversee the organisation of HIPB meetings, conferences and workshops as required including venue, hospitality, equipment, invitations, papers and feed-back etc.
  • Assist policy colleagues with FOIs as required
  • Provide support to other sections within the Unit and/or Directorate, as required
  • Any other duties that may be required by line management.

 


 

Essential Criteria:

  • 5 GCSE’s A*-C including Maths and English (must be able to show evidence)
  • 2 A-Levels at a passing grade in separate subjects (must be able to show evidence)

 


 

*The successful applicant will be required to complete an Access NI during registration*
