Extrusion Operative
Location: Antrim
Rate of Pay: £14.31per hour
Shift Pattern: Continental shifts (2-week rotation)
- Days: 6:00am – 6:00pm
- Nights: 6:00pm – 6:00am
About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturer within the building materials sector, is seeking an Extrusion Operative to join their production team. Operating in a modern, machine-driven environment, you will play a key role in producing high-quality uPVC products used in window and door systems for both bespoke and high-volume projects.

Key Responsibilities
- Set up, operate, and monitor extrusion machinery in line with production schedules
- Ensure all products meet required quality specifications and report defects where necessary
- Perform routine quality checks and accurately complete production documentation
- Monitor machine performance and make minor adjustments to maintain optimal efficiency
- Assist with tool changes, machine start-ups, and shutdowns
- Work collaboratively with team members and supervisors to meet production targets
- Ensure correct handling and loading of raw materials
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Support basic maintenance tasks and assist with troubleshooting faults
About You
Essential Skills & Experience
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards
- Ability to follow instructions and work effectively within a team
- Good communication skills
- Flexibility and willingness to work shift patterns
Desirable (but not essential)
- Experience operating extrusion machinery (ideally within uPVC manufacturing)
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices
- Mechanical aptitude or experience with machinery troubleshooting
