Are you adept at financial assessments and passionate about meticulous financial processing? If so, we are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team!

Job Summary: As a Finance Officer – Higher Level, your core responsibility will be the effective processing of financial assessments for service users in residential and nursing homes. You will ensure compliance with Department of Health guidelines for “Charging for Residential Accommodation.”

Key Result Areas / Main Responsibilities:

• Inputting client and related data into the Abacus system and processing necessary documentation for precise financial assessments.
• Determining the required assessment type based on placement details, and engaging with service users/representatives to discuss the assessment process.
• Financial coding of referred cases in a timely and accurate manner.
• Engaging with various agencies and bodies to investigate and resolve issues related to assets, income, and benefits.
• Applying regulations and rules concerning capital, income, valuation, and other pertinent areas to assessments.
• Maintaining comprehensive records of admissions, discharges, and ensuring proper service user contributions and payments to homes.
• Collaborating with other Trust staff, clients, and the general public in a professional and timely manner.
• Supervising staff reporting directly to the post holder.

Essential Criteria:

• Demonstrated 3 years of relevant finance experience OR Certificate for Accounting Technicians (ATI) or equivalent (QCF Level 4) with 1 year’s relevant finance experience.
• Possession of a current full driving license valid in the UK and access to a car upon appointment.

This full-time role offers a competitive pay of £12.25 per hour for a duration of 6 months with possibilities for extension.
