Temporary Ongoing Position

We’re recruiting a detail‑focused and highly organised Finance Officer to join our client’s team in Ballymena. This role is ideal for someone with strong financial administration experience who thrives in a fast‑paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Accurately input client data into the system and process documentation to ensure timely payments, invoicing, and statistical reporting.
  • Process admissions and discharges on the system, maintaining accurate records and liaising with Named Workers and Residential/Nursing Homes.
  • Create and maintain new client files, allocate Abacus reference numbers, and manage spreadsheets to prevent duplication.
  • Gather and maintain registration category information
  • Prepare contract documentation for distribution to relevant stakeholders.
  • Administer referrals, issue Financial Support Services forms, track returns, and update referral spreadsheets.
  • Refer non‑disclosure cases to management when required.
  • Resolve issues caused by incomplete, delayed, or incorrect referral information.
  • Ensure invoices are submitted promptly with all required checks and supporting documents.
  • Issue relevant financial documentation to clients, representatives, and other parties as needed.
  • Maintain and update both digital and paper records
  • Process incoming correspondence and direct it to the appropriate personnel quickly and accurately.
  • Liaise effectively with internal staff and external agencies to support efficient departmental operations.
  • Respond to queries from staff, clients, and the public in a professional and timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider team as required.
  • Maintain an effective brought‑forward system to support workflow.
  • Carry out any additional duties assigned by senior officers or the Assistant Director.

Essential Criteria

Experience / Qualifications

You must have either:
1 year’s relevant finance experience
OR
5 GCSEs (A–C)* including English & Maths (or equivalent, e.g., QCF Level 2)

Skills & Abilities (assessed at interview)

  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Ability to analyse financial information and communicate findings clearly
